Our talented team, led by the passionate owner Laura, handpicks the freshest flowers to craft stunning arrangements. Laura brings a wealth of expertise, bolstered by certifications and accreditations from prestigious floristry institutions in South Korea and Canada. She is constantly learning and staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques in this rapidly-evolving industry, always with a focus on sustainability and eco-friendly practices.

My Story

Before I became a florist, I worked in the Finance Department at the University of British Columbia, after completing my Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Calgary. My days were filled with spreadsheets and numbers —until one small tradition started to spark something new in me. Every year-end, our department received flower bouquets as gifts, and whenever I was the one sent to pick them up, it felt like stepping into another world.

I still remember how happy everyone was when the flowers arrived—the smiles, the excitement, the way the whole office seemed to light up. That joy stayed with me. I realized how something as simple as flowers could completely change someone’s day, and I wanted to be part of that magic.

So I started taking floral workshops in Vancouver, learning the art and creativity behind arranging flowers. Eventually, my curiosity led me all the way to Korea, where I took professional courses in wedding floristry. Each experience made me fall in love with flowers even more and gave me the courage to dream of a different kind of career—one built on beauty, care, and joy.

In 2019, my family and I moved back to Calgary, and I opened my first little shop inside the Fresh & Local Market. What began as a small dream quickly grew, and today, we’re proud to be part of Avenida Flowers—continuing to create designs that bring warmth, emotion, and connection into people’s lives.

Flowers still make me feel the same way they did back then—hopeful, inspired, and full of gratitude to do what I love every day.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

1. Order Cancellations

  • Same-Day Orders: Once a same-day order has been placed, it cannot be canceled due to the time-sensitive nature of floral arrangements.

  • Next-Day or Future Orders: Orders scheduled for next day or future delivery or pickup can be canceled up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. Please contact us directly by phone or email to request a cancellation. Orders canceled within this timeframe are eligible for a full refund.

2. Refunds

  • Non-Delivery or Incorrect Delivery: If we are unable to deliver your order on the specified date due to a mistake on our end, or if your order is delivered incorrectly, please notify us immediately. We will either redeliver your order at no additional charge or provide a full refund, depending on the circumstances.

  • Product Quality Issues: We pride ourselves on the quality of our floral arrangements. If there is an issue with the freshness or quality of your flowers, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery or pickup with photos and details. We may offer a replacement arrangement or a partial refund, depending on the specific situation.

3. Non-Refundable Orders

  • Custom or Special Orders: Orders with custom designs, specific flower requests, or large quantities that require special ordering of flowers (such as wedding and event florals) are non-refundable once they are in progress. In the event of cancellation prior to fulfillment, we will retain any deposits made to cover costs.

  • Holiday and Peak Period Orders: Orders placed for major holidays (such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Christmas) are non-refundable due to the high demand and special sourcing of flowers during these periods.

4. Changes to Orders

  • We will do our best to accommodate changes to your order, such as adjustments to delivery address, recipient information, or floral arrangement requests. However, changes may not be possible for same-day or next-day orders, particularly during busy periods. Please contact us as soon as possible to make any adjustments.

5. Delivery Policy

  • If delivery is attempted and the recipient is unavailable, we will leave the arrangement in a safe location or follow the delivery instructions provided. If no safe location is available, the order may be returned to our shop, and additional charges may apply for redelivery.
